Planning a weekend breakfast or brunch? The Plated restaurant in New BEL road is something you should check out. Me and my bestie Kiran has a special bond with restaurants in this particular area of Bangalore. For me, one of the restaurants, the truffles made me the foodie I am today. For Kiran, it happened to be his college area and every restaurant has a dating story to tell. Quite nostalgic if you would ask. It’s because of this reason we rode all the way from Marathahalli to New BEL road but, was disappointed at the brunch buffet menu at Truffles (my all time favourites) and decided to try some other place.
The Plated was just across the street and we decided to give it a try. A beautiful new place opened quite recently, I could see the fresh coat of paint on the furniture which in fact had a light yellow sandalwood finish to it. If you have a pet, it’s your lucky day because the restaurant is pet-friendly. Sounds good enough? Let’s get started with the Plated Bistro review.
I ordered Croque Madame, a traditional French non-veg Sandwich. A simple sandwich with Chicken Ham and Gruyere cheese between slices of buttered bread. They have also grilled the bread to make it crispier. The dish was topped with perfectly poached egg and some green shoots. With a soft yolk and hardening crust, I would like to call it as a perfectly prepared poached egg.
Kiran ordered Paneer Bhurji Keema Pav, a very famous North Indian dish. If you want to go non-veg, there is an option to add Lamp as well. It was served along with Kasundi Mayo and Mint Chutney. Not my type of breakfast but, I loved the dish and the way they have presented. The panner was not chewy and it was well cooked.
For the main course, we had Ratatouille. I haven’t tried this many times and, if my memory is correct, this will be my 4th time trying Ratatouille. It was quite a heavy main course especially after eating that much. We even had to change our Sunday breakfast label to Sunday brunch. The Provencal summer vegetables, layered tomatoes, eggplant, leeks and even Zucchini. Served along with Mesclum of green and garlic bread.
How can we have a brunch without tasting some waffles, this thought made us order waffles as well. We ordered Assorted Berries and Whipped Vanilla cream waffles. It was delicious and this is a must try here.
I have also tried Pear, Raspberry, Mango and Yogurt Smoothie. I liked the fact that there are no fancy names for drinks and juices instead, they have the full ingredients as the dish name on the menu. This, I find, helped me choose the perfect drink. Of course, this might become a bit confusing at the time of ordering.
Once we finished the brunch, we were really happy because of the delicious food, prompt service, reasonably priced menu and the quantity of food. The restaurant folks also have mastered the art of presenting the food and they live up to their name. The ambiance is nice and the outdoor seating is pet-friendly as well. The seating near to windows is a perfect place for you to click some pictures. There is also a wall which has a lot of doodles and scribblings which can be perfect selfie spot.
Overall, me and my friend loved the experience at the Plated restaurant. We would love to visit again and are more than happy to suggest this place to others.
